Darlington

Camperdown 2022-21.jpg

The little town of Darlington sits on the Mount Emu Creek, half in Corangamite Shire and half in the Moyne Shire.

Travellers on the busy Hamilton Highway recognise the historic feature of the bluestone Elephant Bridge Hotel established in 1842.

Other features of Darlington have passed into history, such as the school, church and post office, but Darlington has an active community hosting art classes, cinema and many other events at its Mechanics Institute Hall.

The recreation reserve hosts the Western Speedway, and both locals and visitors enjoy picnics on Nuggets Flat at the historic river crossing.

Corangamite Shire acknowledges and pays our respects to the Eastern Maar and Wadawurrung peoples as the Traditional Owners of the Lands that we work, live and play upon.

We would like you to join us in recognising their ongoing cultural, spiritual and educational practices.
